Queens, New York (The Weekly Vice) - Steven Slater, a 38-year-old New York based flight attendant was jailed Monday after he allegedly unleashed a profane rant over the plane's public address system before fleeing the aircraft via an emergency exit.
According to the New York Port Authority, Jet Blue flight attendant Steven Slater had a rather bizarre reaction to a passenger who stood up a little too early to grab his luggage as the plane made it's way towards the jetway at Kennedy International Airport.
As the passenger's bag came down from the overhead storage, it reportedly struck Slater in the head. Slater reportedly asked for an apology, but none was forthcoming from the passenger.
That's when Slater allegedly responded by first unleashing a profanity laced rant over the plane's public address system. He then reportedly grabbed a beer from the galley, deployed the plane's emergency exit and then slide down the escape shoot.
Although Slater ran to his car and fled the airport, investigators didn't have any problem finding him.
Detectives made a trip to Slater's home where they arrested him on charges of criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and trespassing.
