Rochester, New Hampshire (The Weekly Vice) - Mary Jean Eldridge, a 48-year-old Farmington woman was jailed Thursday after she allegedly went berserk inside a bar when the bartender refused to continue serving her. When that didn't get her anywhere, she reportedly called 911, stating that the bartender assaulted her.
According to the Rochester Police Department, Eldridge was drinking at Slim’s Tex Mex Saloon when the bartender decided to quit serving her alcohol.
Eldridge reportedly retaliated by throwing a beer at the bartender. After bar staff frog-marched her to the door, she allegedly decided to call 911 and claim she had been assaulted.
Investigators say Eldridge told 911 dispatchers that she needed police assistance, before abruptly hanging up. She continued to call 911 several times over the course of an hour, giving different locations and clothing descriptions which made it hard for officers to locate her.
When officers finally located Eldridge and determined she needed to cool down in jail, she reportedly pulled an officer away from her vehicle and kicked at another officer who was attempting to handcuff her.
Eldridge was booked into jail and charged with providing false information to 911, simple assault, resisting arrest, and a felony fugitive from justice complaint. She was releasedconvert to personal recognizance on the agreement that she have a mental health referral and is monitored by a sobriety-measuring device. She plead not-guilty to those charges during her arraignment hearing on Friday. Her next court appearance is scheduled for October 21st at 1:00 p.m.
Eldridge was wanted out of Maine for violating a harassment protective order. She is being held on a $5,000 cash-only bond in lieu of a personal recognizance release if she agrees to mental health monitoring and and a sobriety monitoring device.
