La Crosse, Wis. (The Weekly Vice) - Julie Bailey, a 38-year-old pregnant Wisconsin woman was arrested Tuesday after she attempted to rob a Taco Johns with a hammer.
According to La Crosse Police, Bailey entered a Taco John's restaurant late Tuesday night and told the clerk "I want a soft shell, and this is a stick up - give me all of your money."
Investigators say her robbery attempt crashed and burned when she was unable to get the hammer out of her pocket. Fumbling with the hammer allowed the employee to flee the scene and call police.
Bailey, who was reportedly arrested a few minutes later, told police she needed the money because her roommate threatened to evict her if she didn't buy him crack cocaine.
Bailey was booked into jail on charges of attempted robbery and obstructing police. Her bail was set at 10,000.
The woman's roommate, identified as 51-year-old Bruce Collins, is expected to also be charged. He reportedly faces charges of being a party to armed robbery and bail jumping. His bond was set at $5,000.
