Maine Township, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) - Janusz Owca, a 32-year-old Maine Township man, had an additional charge added to the list when he allegedly used his one-phone-call from jail to threaten the woman he was arrested for beating.
According to Cook County deputies, the victim called police after Owca allegedly came home drunk at 5pm on a Sunday, entered into a verbal argument with the victim and then violently attacked her.
After Owca reportedly choked her and pulled her by the hair, the woman fled the apartment with her children and notified authorities.
Investigators say Owca was at home when officers arrived on the scene and that Owca took "a fighting stance" telling the officer "I’m going to [expletive] you up."
After a convincing thump upside the melon, Owca was placed against the wall, cuffed, and taken to jail. Owca reportedly told the officer that he knew people in jail and could have the victim killed for $100.
Owca was booked into the Cook County Sheriff's Police Maywood lockup and charged with aggravated domestic battery. After processing, Owca allegedly wrote down a false number on the log and called the victim to tell her he was going to kill her.
The victim then contacted police again to inform them of the threats and the phone call.
Owca was already on 18 months probation for a domestic battery charge from June of this year.
A charge of felony intimidation has been added and Owca's bond is set at $350,000.
