Coral Gables, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Eric Owens, a 28-year-old G4S Wackenhut security guard was jailed Sunday after he allegedly admitted to entering a home and then videotaping a 17-year-old girl while she was undressing.
According to Coral Gables police, a family who lived in a gated community called the guard house after their daughter reported seeing someone with a cell phone attempting to videotape her while she was undressing.
Wackenhut security guard Owens arrived on scene and assured the family he would contact police and report the incident, but apparently never did. The family reportedly became concerned when police never arrived to take a statement and decided to contact authorities themselves.
Investigators say detectives interviewed another security guard who informed them Owens stated the family did not want police to be contacted. The inconsistent stories eventually led Owens to confess that he had recorded the teen with his cell phone. He also admitted to videotaping the same girl just two weeks prior.
Owens' cell phone, which had conveniently disappeared, was later found during a search of the neighborhood. The phone reportedly contained images of the undressing girl.
It was later learned that Owens had been convicted in 2004 for peeping into someone's home while he resided in California.
Owens was booked into jail on two counts of burglary, two counts of video voyeurism and one count of providing false information to police.
