Rochester, New York (The Weekly Vice) - Yvette Solomon, a 31-year-old Rochester woman, was jailed Sunday after she allegedly abandoned two starving dogs in a dumpster.
According to Rochester police, officers responded to a 911 call regarding a dog left in a garbage dumpster and then another call about an hour later regarding a second discarded dog.
When officers arrived on scene, they reportedly found a severely emaciated female 6-month-old pit bull terrier in the dumpster. Officers say that a second dog, a 1-year-old male pit bull terrier, was found due to the second call in a dumpster around the corner.
At least one witness allegedly told Solomon that they would care for the dogs but Solomon told the witness that she would sell them the dogs.
Authorities say utility bills bearing Solomon's name were found with the dogs and the second dog was found in the trash bin at Solomon's last home address.
Solomon was booked in the Monroe County Jail and faces charges of felony aggravated animal cruelty and misdemeanor abandonment. Bond information was not immediately available.
