Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (The Weekly Vice) - Denise M. Hurley, a 52-year-old Lawton woman, was jailed Thursday after she allegedly ran over a bush, was hospitalized for detoxification, and then chewed through restraints and I.V. tubes to free herself.

According to Oklahoma City police, an apartment complex security guard called authorities around 10:25 p.m. after Hurley reportedly ran over a bush with her car before striking a fence.

Hurley was given a field sobriety test, which she repeatedly failed. When officers tried to place her under arrest, she resisted, requiring officers to tase her until she complied.

Investigators say Hurley was taken to a local hospital for observation where she was tied down with nylon tethers and fitted with i.v. tubes.

That's when she reportedly chewed through the restraints and I.V. tubes, and removed the heart monitor with her mouth.

She was restrained again, this time with handcuffs, and taken to jail after her heart rate returned to normal, several hours later.

Hurley was booked into the Oklahoma City jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was later released.

She may also face charges of interfering with an official process.
