Ryan Hamilton Has Wandered Deep Into The Woods - Jailed After Dressing Up As Police Officer, Taking Woman To Jail

Boise, Idaho (The Weekly Vice) - Ryan Hamilton, a 25-year-old Idaho man was arrested Wednesday after arresting a woman and then taking her to jail for an outstanding warrant.

There was just one small hiccup with Hamilton's arrest procedure. He isn't a police officer or bounty hunter.

According to the Ada County Sheriff's Office, Hamilton likely found a warrant online for the Boise woman before deciding to take her to jail.

Authorities say Hamilton dressed up like an officer including a Kevlar vest and gun. He allegedly went to the woman's home and told her she was under arrest for an outstanding warrant.

The victim reportedly protested the arrest when Hamilton didn't appear to have credentials of some kind to prove he was a real officer. Plus, there was something fishy about the black and white car he arrived in.

Hamilton allegedly handcuffed the woman and took her to the Ada County Jail where she was booked on her warrant.

The victim allegedly bonded out of jail and contacted police to report her arrest. Hamilton was located and then taken into custody by real police officers who determined he had no authority to place someone under arrest.

Hamilton was booked in the Ada County Jail on unlawful exercise of functions of a police officer.
