Huntington Beach, California (The Weekly Vice) - Maureen Geddie, a 65-year-old California woman, allegedly ran over her fiance' once, twice and almost a third time before police gave her a new target to aim for.
According to Huntington Beach police, Geddie was engaged in an argument with her fiance near the Pacific Coast Highway when she decided she'd put a quick end to the dispute.
Investigators say she put her vehicle into gear and struck her fiance with it. As he was trying to get to his feet, she reportedly struck him again for good measure.
Geddie put the car in reverse and was attempting to back over her him when bystanders pulled the man to safety. Geddie then fled the scene.
Investigators say the car left the parking lot they were in and was at a red light when several police officers on foot approached. The driver ran the red light and attempted to run over the officers, who jumped out of the way. Two officers in a patrol car got behind her car and there was a short vehicle pursuit. Geddie ran another red light before colliding with another vehicle.
Geddie's surrendered to police when her vehicle became immobile.
She was booked at the city jail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The victim was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
