Leon, New York (The Weekly Vice) - Levi Detweiler, a 17-year-old Amish teen was arrested after he allegedly fled from police using a horse and buggy.
You just can't make this stuff up, can you?
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office, deputies attempted to pull Detweiler's buggy over after he failed to come to a complete stop.
Instead of yielding, the Amish youth snapped the whip and led deputies on a mile-long, slow speed chase that ended when Detweiler attempted to take a sharp turn too quickly and crashed the buggy into a ditch.
Undaunted, the flowbee stylin' lad reportedly exited the overturned buggy and escaped on foot.
After a week-long investigation, police have identified a suspect and made an arrest in the case.
Detweiler was booked into the Cattaraugus County Jail on charges of underage possession of alcohol, over-driving an animal, reckless endangerment, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
His bail was set at $500.
