Palm Harbor, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Alexander M. Lemke, a 20-year-old Palm Harbor man was jailed Friday after he allegedly stole a car, drove it straight to a McDonalds and then attempted to trade drugs for hamburgers.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department, Lemke stole a neighbor's 2005 Toyota Solara after breaking into their home around 1:25 a.m.
He then took the stolen car to a Mcdonald's drive-thru where he attempted to trade marijuana and Oxycodone for hamburgers. Employees contacted police.
Investigators say Lemke was arrested around 1:40 a.m, approximately 20 minutes after he had stolen the vehicle. Deputies conducted a search, and found numerous drugs in the center console.
Lemke was booked into the Pinellas County Jail and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, driving with a license that is suspended or revoked and eight drug-related offenses. He is being held in lieu of $18,550 bail.
