Darien, New York (The Weekly Vice) - Michael Johnson, a 19-year-old New York man, was arrested Monday after a practical joke involving super glue went horribly wrong.
According to the Genesee County Sheriffs Office, Johnson, while on a camping trip with friends, emptied an entire tube of super glue onto a 17-year-old’s cheek while he was sleeping.
The glue reportedly rolled down into the victim’s eye and ear. When the victim woke up, his eye had been sealed shut and he was unable to hear.
Investigators say the teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment and may require a specialist because the glue drained into the man's inner ear.
"Johnson put some super glue on his cheek figuring the guy would touch it, and his hand would be stuck to his face," explained Genesee County Sheriff Gary Maha.
Johnson was booked into the Genesee County Jail on a charge of misdemeanor assault. His bond was set at $500.
The misdemeanor assault charge could be elevated to a felony if the medical report indicates there's serious physical injury.
This marks a second major crime story involving super glue. Three women were arrested last August when they tied a man up and super glued his penis to his stomach.
