Port Charlotte, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Katrina Montez Wade, a 37-year-old Charlotte County Jail inmate, faces more charges after she allegedly sold nearly 100 bags of heroin to other inmates right from her vagina.
According to Charlotte County authorities, Wade was one of six people arrested in connection to a raid that took place on May 20th at a Port Charlotte home. Detectives reportedly recovered approximately an ounce of heroin and 98.5 grams of crack-cocaine.
One of the suspects told police that Wade had 50-100 bags of heroin hidden inside her vagina, but a body-cavity search was denied during booking.
Investigators say while in jail, Wade non-verbally communicated with other inmates by using hand gestures, notes, and lip reading, managing to sell almost all of the heroin she smuggled in.
She reportedly sold the bags for $5 each, sometimes trading them for deodorant, a radio, hair grease.
Corrections officers exposed the reported "drug operation" six days later after they intercepted a note that Wade tried to pass to another inmate. The note offered to trade a bag of heroin for $5.
On May 26th, officers entered Wade's cell with an ultra-sound machine to perform a thorough search after confirming her activities with four other inmates. However, prior to the search Wade reached into her vagina and removed a bag containing 12 small bags of heroin. She claims that she turned over the drugs on her own to "clear her conscience," and that she had a lot more when she arrived but she had used some herself and shared the rest with other inmates.
Wade now faces charges of drug-trafficking, introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held without bond.
