Port St. Lucie, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Harold Caswell, a 38-year-old Port St. Lucie man, was jailed Sunday after he allegedly broke into a day care center and stole the children's puppets.
According to the Port St. Lucie police, police were summoned after Caswell broke into the Kiddie Academy in Port St. Lucie through the building's back door.
When officers arrived on the scene around 4 a.m., Caswell explained he was merely inside the daycare because he had questions about registering his daughter for the academy.
When officers didn't buy that story, Caswell reportedly became combative with police. Officers were forced to taser him after he reportedly struck an officer with a broom.
Police searched a backpack Caswell was carrying and recovered numerous puppets including those that resembled a cop, a firefighter, a giraffe, a nurse, a chef, a zebra, and an elephant.
Investigators say Caswell had a small amount of marijuana in his possession and his blood alcohol level was three times the state's legal limit.
He was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail and charged with burglary, resisting arrest without violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, and possession of marijuana.
