Markham, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) - Felicia West, a 21-year-old Matteson woman, has been charged Saturday after police found enough fireworks in her trailer-home to level an entire city block. It was a grave concern to police considering West's 5-year-old daughter lived among the explosives.

According to Cook County Police, officers received a call about a possible burglary in progress at West's trailer home Thursday after neighbors saw someone climbing the mobile home's window.

When officer's arrived, they found West and her 5-year-old inside the home, along with a dog that had been locked in a cage. West was allegedly able to establish that it was her residence and stated that she climbed in the window because she had forgotten her keys.

Officers took West into custody after discovering more than 300 pounds of fireworks, 51 pounds of flash powder, 200 pounds of aluminum powder, seven 50-kilogram containers of suspected potassium perchlorate, 3,300 M-type explosives, 1,000 empty cardboard tubes and four empty 50-pound containers of aluminum powder.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the department's bomb squad and ATF personnel were called in to remove the material.

A warrant was issued for West's half-brother, 19-year-old Michael Dorosz, in connection with the fireworks cache.

West was booked into the Cook County Jail for felony unlawful use of a weapon, misdemeanor child endangerment, and misdemeanor animal cruelty. She was released after posting a $500 bail.
