Rowlett, Texas (The Weekly Vice) Belinda Loveland, a 52-year-old attorney and juvenile court judge for Rowlett, was shot and killed Sunday in an apparent murder-suicide. The woman's son was informed of the murder when his father text messaged him to say "I think I just killed your mother."
According to the Rowlett Police Department, the Lovelands' son, a doctor in Galveston, called 911 after getting a text message from his father, Richard Loveland, that said "I don't know how to tell you this, but I think I just killed your mother."
Investigators say when officers arrived at the Loveland’s home and failed to establish contact with anyone inside, they sent in a camera-equipped robot which recorded footage of the two bodies.
When officers went inside, they found Belinda Loveland dead in the master bedroom and her 59-year-old husband, Richard Loveland, dead in the adjacent bathroom.
Authorities conclude it was a murder-suicide.
"It appears that Richard Loveland shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself," the Rowlett Police Department said.
Police are still investigating the case and do not yet know the motive for the shootings.
