David Haskell - Charged With Climbing Inside ATM Machine - Hearing Postponed Due To Excessive Bawling

Haverhill, Massachusetts (The Weekly Vice) - David Haskell, an 18-year-old Boston teen, was jailed after he was reportedly caught inside an ATM, attempting to rob it.

According to Haverhill police, Haskell managed to climb inside a Bank of America ATM machine after punching a hole through the surrounding dry wall and then dropping himself into the machine itself.

Investigators say cameras captured activity around and even inside the machine, prompting an investigation.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find the ATM shaking and believed there was someone stuck inside. When they approached the machine, Haskell popped his head out from inside the ATM. He was immediately arrested.

Haskell was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of breaking and entering, malicious damage, larceny and drug possession, but he sobbed throughout his court hearing and was believed to be too high on drugs to continue. His court date was postponed until next Tuesday.

Haskell's attorney reportedly told the court his client was attempting to rob the ATM in order to pay a drug debt.

He remains jailed without bond due to a probation violation from a previous case where he was charged with assaulting, bullying, and criminally harassing a special needs student.
