Brookridge, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Joshua McWilliams, a 20-year-old Spring Hill man, was jailed after he allegedly flagged down an officer because "someone had taken his keys," only to be found with drugs in his car.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, McWilliams stopped an officer around 2:00 a.m. and stated that two people standing in the parking lot had stolen his keys because they claimed he owed them money.

Suspecting that the argument might be drug-related, the deputy requested permission to search McWilliams' vehicle.

McWilliams reportedly stated that he would "rather not."

Investigators say a K-9 unit was called to the scene, and the police dog immediately alerted to the driver's side door. Deputies searched the vehicle, recovering two and a half Oxycodone pills, five unopened Lidoderm patches and an assortment of drug paraphernalia that included a mirror with white residue on it, several straws, and a pill grinder.

McWilliams, who was wearing a Lidoderm patch at the time, admitted that the patches were not prescribed to him. He did, however, tell police that the pills, which he referred to as "roxies," were his, and he grinds them up and snorts them through straws.

McWilliams was booked into the Hernando County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drugs without a prescription. His bond was set at $3,000.
