Daytona Beach, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Willie Martin, a 50-year-old Florida man, was arrested Friday for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl and getting her pregnant while the girl's mother thought it was a joke.
According to the Daytona Police Department, Martin had been having sex with the girl since she was 12. The now 14-year-old girl gave birth to a boy in June 2009. The teen told Children's Advocacy Center counselors that Martin began molesting her when she was 12 and later progressed to intercourse.
Investigators say, a friend of the victim’s mother told her she saw Martin kiss the victim on the mouth. She said the girl's mother treated the whole thing as a joke. Investigators were then called about the sexual abuse last May when the same friend informed authorities of the victim's pregnancy.
When investigators interviewed the victim, she was already eight months pregnant. She was taken from her mother's house just days before the baby's birth.
When the victim was asked if she knew why she was being taken out of the home, the girl replied, "Because her (my mother's) boyfriend raped me.”
Martin had dated the victim's mother off and on for several years and had lived with the girl and her mother for 12 years.
Martin was booked into the Volusia County Branch jail on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a certain minor and lewd and lascivious molestation of a person 12 to 16 years of age, both first-degree felonies. He is being held without bail.

The mother thought it was a joke? WTH!!! I cannot understand these parents that let this happen to their children. What a waste of space.
also, it says he lived there on and off for 12 years? So he lived with this child since she was 2... and then molested and raped her.

Reread the article. He only molested and had sex with the girl for 2 years, meaning you guys need to give him credit for behaving properly for the first 10 years. This tells me the 'victim' flirted with him until he finally gave in. Oh and tell me if you guys were in Willie Martin's shoes you wouldn't do the same thing. Give me a break.

The mother needs exactly the same punishment this guy gets. Poor kid will never get to be a kid and I bet her kid grows up in the same vicious cycle.
Her child will only remind her of the scum that abuse her, he ruined her.
She should be allowed compensation for this, his social security or something.
