Samuel Collins Jail Booking ReportNew Port Richey, FL (The Weekly Vice) - Samuel Fredrick Collins, a 28-year-old Fort Lauderdale man, was jailed Saturday after he allegedly ate a bag of pot and washed it down with a cheeseburger.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Department, a deputy pulled over Collin's Honda Del Sol around 2:30 P.M after he reportedly tossed a McDonald's bag out the window.
When the officer approached the vehicle, he saw what appeared to be a bag of marijuana stuffed in Collins's mouth. He also appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
When asked to spit out the bag, Collins crammed a double cheeseburger in his mouth and attempted to swallow everything. The deputy then grabbed his arm and forced him to the ground.
Investigators say Collins then spit out the baggie and another small clear wrapper with more marijuana. There was also a joint sitting in plain view on the passenger seat.
Collins told deputies that he had a suspended license and feared arrest. He also stated that he was sorry for trying to swallow the weed.
Collins was booked into the Land O' Lakes jail and charged with marijuana possession (under 20 grams), tampering with evidence, and driving without a license. He was released after posting $150 bond for the possession charge and an additional $5,000 for the tampering charge.
Records show Collins was arrested on New Year's Day this year for failing to appear in court on a previous marijuana charge.
