Columbus, OH (The Weekly Vice) - Evelyn Burgess, a 42-year-old Columbus woman, was jailed after she allegedly fatally shot her cousin in the head over her Easter attire.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Burgess's cousin, 19-year-old Danielle Pickens, came over to her house on Easter dressed in jean shorts and a t-shirt that was tied to show her midriff.
Investigators say Burgess, who calls Pickens her niece although they are second cousins, found the outfit inappropriate and disrespectful after her husband allegedly glanced at Pickens. A physical and verbal confrontation ensued.
Pickens attempted to leave the residence and got into a car with her older sister, 20-year-old Ravina Burgess. Burgess then pulled out a handgun, reached through the passenger window and grabbed Pickens's hair. She then reportedly shot her in the back of the head.
Burgess then casually walked back inside her house, sat on her couch, and called 911. She stated bluntly in the call that she just shot her niece, and that Pickens was in the car, possibly dead.
Pickens died at a local hospital Monday morning.
Burgess told detectives that she did not mean to shoot her cousin and she retrieved the gun to prove a point and it unexpectedly went off. Family members say Pickens, who used to dress as a tomboy, started wearing slightly skimpier clothes because she found it comfortable. Burgess was never angry about it before this incident.
Burgess was booked into jail and charged with murder. She is being held on $500,000 bond.

Hell, what better reason to shoot family? A story like this is almost too hard to believe.
This is such a sad story. How can anyone just shoot their family member in the head like they are a damn sick dog? What a jealous bitch!!!
