LaGrange, GA (The Weekly Vice) - Melody Onyonyor, a 35-year-old LaGrange woman was jailed after she allegedly circumcised her infant child.
But here comes the twist. The infant child is her 10-month-old daughter!
According to the Troup County Sheriff's Office, the child was staying with a relative of the child's father when the injuries were discovered.
Doctors at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta determined that the girl's clitoris had been removed by some form of surgery.
Onyonyor was booked into jail and charged with child cruelty and female genital mutilation. Bond information was not available.

It is my understanding that this is a custom in some countries. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of pain that this poor baby girl sustained.
omg. That poor baby :( breaks my heart. I got to stop coming here. I like the stories about the older folks but the stories about the babies are so sad. I have 4 month old and I couldnt imagine harming him in anyway. Ppl are fucked up.

this woman deserves to go to hell and have her clit cut off as well. her daughter will now have a life full of questions and misery in relationships because of her "mothers" actions. this is deplorable and i wish they could give a death sentence to adults who abuse children like this. i have 2 children (boy and girl) and if i ever ran in to this woman on the street i would kick the shit out of her (if i could, she does look like a football player). I wouldn't be surprised if when this girl grows up she becomes an abuser of children, its a sad cycle of violence, i just hope and pray she is put with those who truly care about her and can give her the help she is going to need following a life changing event like this.

I'll bet her defense is going to be something like "it's a custom over in blah blah blah" or bring religion into it. Or go with the "wasn't in my right mind" thing. I hope to God none of these work, and she gets a true comeuppance for this travesty.

She's guilty as it will be discovered.The child was in her care and she didn;t report to a MD or the police that her child was surgically mutilated. Either she did it or she knows who did.. none the less she's guilty.They authorities should make an example of her, so others like her will think twice about bringing that barbarizm here!!!!

To Jenn Angel,hotrod 88, and Ida slapter and the world the only thing she needs to do is clear her name then beging to work on her law suit. What will people think of Mrs.Onyonyor when the truth comes out that she did not do such a thing like that to her baby girl that she LOVES with all her heart. Mrs.Onyonyor would give her life up for her children if you are your family was in need she would make a way to help you and your family out. U say you know Mrs.Onyonyor personally well I dont think u know her as well as I do. And like I said she did not do that to her little baby girl I know she would not hurt her baby nor hurt her others six children its nothing in the world that they want for they have every thing a child could want.
