Papillion, NE (The Weekly Vice) - Jason Botos, a 30-year-old Papillion man was jailed after he was allegedly too drunk to appear in court on DUI charges.

According to Sarpy County police, Botos' father drove him to the courthouse, where he was to be sentenced for a drunk driving offense.

Investigators say Botos jumped a curb on Highway 75 in September of 2009, hitting five other vehicles and critically injuring three people.

Botos reportedly showed up to his court appearance so intoxicated that his father had to ask officers to help him out of the vehicle since he was unable to walk on his own.

Officers arrested Botos in the parking lot because he was unable to make it into the courthouse, ultimately failing to appear in court. When he was in custody, police performed a breathalyzer test on him. He blew a 0.43, more then five times the state's legal limit. He was sent to a local hospital to be checked out, then taken back to jail.

Botos was booked into jail and charged with failure to appear. Combined with the original DUI charge, Botos could face up to 18 months in jail.

I seen this on the news. I don't even know why his dad would take him to a court date as drunk as his son was? It's hard to tell hotrod he lives in a rural area where there are mostly farmers they are not as harsh as a city would be, but now that he pulled this stunt he will probably get hammered.

Maybe the jail time will help him sober up.
Hate to have his case of the shakes when that .43 buzz wears off.

Sheeyeet.. Reminds me of the old joke:

A man comes into court for a hearing on a disorderly charge.

"Raustus!" said the judge sternly, "You be once more in my court for drinking!"

Raustus swayed back and forth a bit then gestured:

'Fine jedge. I'll start with a beer!"
