Long Island, NY (The Weekly Vice) - Alexander Clement, 68, and Christine Clement, 64, were jailed after they allegedly tampered with Jell-O Pudding Mix in an effort to get free Jell-O.
According to Suffolk County police, dozens of butterscotch and pistachio-flavored Jell-O pudding mix was replaced with aquarium sand and then returned for a refund to at least four area supermarkets.
Investigators say the couple tampered with the products and then returned them to the store in an effort to receive free Jell-O pudding mix. The couple was identified through surveillance video obtained from store.
The substance returned in the packages were deemed harmless and police do not believe the couple intended to harm anyone.
The Clements were booked into jail and charged with petit larceny and tampering with a consumer product.

I would think aquarium sand would cost more than Jell-o. Did they do the math?
With Obonzo's plans for seniors they probably ought to try to get accustom to the taste of dog food.

They are obviously suffering from Clue Deficit Disorder.
probably the sand is old, and they took it from their empty tank, having no further use for it. but still... jello just dont cost enough to even BEGIN to justify this. or the risk. what nutters!!! double dementia? lol
