St. Petersburg, FL (The Weekly Vice) - Brandon Hood, a 21-year-old St. Petersburg man has been jailed after he reportedly accidentally shot a 4-year-old girl he was baby-sitting in the head with a BB gun, causing possible permanent injuries.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Hood was in a backyard shooting an air-powered BB gun at targets when the mother of the 4-year-old asked him to watch her daughter and another child while she went to a job interview..
She specifically told him not to shoot the gun around the children, who were now playing in the back yard where his targets were set up.
As soon as the mother started to leave, she heard her daughter crying, and went back inside to find the child bleeding from the head. She was then told that Hood allegedly shot the child by accident.
The child was taken to a local hospital where medical tests showed that the BB was lodged in her brain, causing ongoing, debilitating injuries. The girl is now resting at home, but it is unclear if she will ever recover because the BB remains inside her skull.
Hood was booked into the Pinellas County Jail and charged with child neglect. His bond was set at $10,000.

Lets see guy shooting BB guns. Mother brings kids around where guns are being shot. Then acts shocked at the outcome?
Probably was an accident. One that was easily avoided.
Toddlers and guns are mutually exclusive. Period!
