Theresa Jones Is A Slow Learner - Steals Car To Find Drugs Just Hours After Leaving Jail

Theresa Jones Jail Booking Report

New Port Richey, FL (The Weekly Vice) - Theresa Jones, a 49-year-old woman fresh out of prison has been arrested again after she stole a car just hours after her release.

According to New Port Richey Police, Jones was released from Lowell Correctional institute in Ocala, Florida after serving out a sentence lasting two years and eight months.

Investigators say Jones met up with a man she became pen pals with while she was incarcerated, and the two drive to a New Port Richey hotel.

Sometime during the evening, Jones took the man's car on the promise she was making a beer run and would return. She never returned.

Police captured Jones Thursday morning - learning that instead of going on a beer run, she stole the man's car and went to find drugs instead.

She was booked into the Pasco County Jail on charges of grand theft auto, possession of cocaine and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $7,300.

Once again Florida is not violating the accussed rights against excessive bail.

I wonder how long it took the man to figure out that prisoners learn to be con-men and his car wasn't coming back.

I guess she just likes the taste of snatch

Almost 3 years in jail and she steals a car to LOOK for the drugs? Usually people relapse because the drugs find them again. This P.O.S. will never be a productive member of society.

Relapse? You can get drugs in jail, she never quit.

In general, they are for people who are able to take care of themselves such that they don't need to be in an institution, but who need more support than they would have living alone.

Often a person has to work really hard to show they are a good candidate for the halfway house. Many have long waiting lists.

This is a perfect example of how our penal system fails to rehabilitate criminals. I wish we'd move towards a '3 strikes and you're out' legal system. Three felony convictions and you've proved you're a worthless POS and don't deserve to live with the rest of us...death penalty. We're way too easy on criminals.
