Chino Valley, AZ (The Weekly Vice) - Gary Riley, a 38-year-old Arizona man was indicted Thursday on charges he sexually assaulted his neighbor's dog.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, deputies were contacted by Riley's neighbor, who came home from work to find his 6-month-old female collie missing from his fenced-in back yard.
Investigators say the neighbor went out looking for Daisy, the missing dog - but when he returned, he found Riley in the process of sexually assaulting her.
The neighbor struggled to get Riley to release the dog - ultimately punching him in the face until he finally released her.
Deputies arrived on scene to discover Riley hiding under a bed inside his home.
Riley claimed he was merely trying to return the dog and denied sexually assaulting her, however police found numerous scratch marks to his arms, torso, back, chest, abdomen and pelvic area - consistent with the clawing marks of a dog, according to deputies.
A medical exam of the dog was also provided - confirming injury to interior of the dog's vulva, according to deputies. The exam also revealed that the dog was not in heat at the time.
Riley was booked into the Camp Verde Jail on charges of bestiality, aggravated assault and theft of property.
