New York, NY (The Weekly Vice) - Jeremiah Gilliam, a 22-year-old New York City serial burglar was arrested after a child helped police track him down.
According to New York City police, Gilliam allegedly stole a child's X-Box gaming system when he burglarized the family's New York home. Gilliam was currently under investigation in 13 cases of car burglary.
Investigators say they got a big break in the case when the child who's X-Box was stolen saw that someone was playing his games online. He alerted his parents who in turn alerted police.
Authorities traced the gaming system's i.p. address, leading detectives to Gilliam's grandmother's address in the Bronx.
When police arrived on scene, they found dozens of video games, laptops and GPS devices believed to have been stolen from 200 car burglaries in the Westchester County area.
Gilliam was booked into jail on charges of grand larceny. Bail amount is unknown.
