Seattle WA. (The Weekly Vice) - Daniel Thomas Hicks, a 29-year-old Washington man was been charged with murder after he shot his 13-month-old child and her mother to death - allegedly because the baby wasn't born a boy.
Hicks is on the run and considered armed and dangerous after he allegedly shot and killed his 28-year-old girlfriend, Jennifer Morgan, and the couple's baby girl, Ema on Monday.
The child and her mother were found shot to death Tuesday by the child's grandmother - as the couple had lived in her basement over the past few years.
According to police, Jennifer confided to her mother that Hicks was upset the baby was not born a boy. He also allegedly suspected Jennifer of conceiving the child with another man.
Investigators say Jennifer had planned to break off the relationship with Hicks the day of the shooting. When the child's grandmother returned home from work, she found Hick's truck gone.
On Tuesday, the grandmother found her daughter and granddaughter murdered when she went downstairs to check on them. Both had been shot several times.
Hicks remains at large and is described as a light-skinned black male, 6-foot-four inches and 160 pounds. Police believe he fled in a white 2006 Chevy truck with Washington tag # A68135z.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Seattle Police Homicide Unit at 206-233-5000.
