Kansas City, Mo (The Weekly Vice) - Vincent Mosby, a 23-year-old Missouri man was arrested Saturday on allegations he "married" a 14-year-old girl with the approval of the girl's parents - because they feared she might have sex with someone her own age.
According to police, a 14-year-old girl's parent's pressured her into marrying Mosby when they believed she was going to have sex with a boy her own age.
Although marriage in the state of Missouri is not legal without a judge's signature, investigators say Mosby paid a dowry to the family and held a wedding ceremony August 4 to seal the deal.
Some family members, however, frowned on the arrangement and removed the child from Mosby in an effort to prevent further sexual abuse. That's when Mosby allegedly threatened violence if family members didn't "give me back my wife in 72 hours."
When the 72 hours had passed, someone drove past the family member's home, firing three shots at the home. No one was injured in the shooting.
Investigators recovered a "marriage contract" that was signed by Mosby, the teen and the teen's stepfather. The contract also notes a dowry paid by Mosby, which included a watch and a ring which were purchased form an area Wal-Mart.
Mosby and the teen allegedly had sex three times in August at the girl's home while her mother and stepfather were in the house.
Mosby was booked into Jackson County Jail on a charge of statutory rape. His bond was set at $100,000.

OMG! They wrote a contract and accepted a dowry for their daughter?! This is awful. I can't believe that parents would do this to their little girl. All involved in this sick exchange should be charged! Shame on you!!!
Sounds familiar. Another little girl basically got pimped. She is only 14, what an impressionable age.

Looking at the guys beard and listening to the story I thought this must be a Muslim thing.
I checked some other news, and it was sanctioned through the Mosque.
In the Muslim faith I think its acceptable to marry as young as 6 , so this 14 yr old is already a little long in the tooth.
John, I'm sorry to tell you that the Muslim faith does not find it acceptable for 6 year olds to be married, when this happens it is a result of archaic local cultural practices that misrepresent Islam or the actions of disgusting people that equally do not represent Islam. Read about it instead of telling us what you think an entire religious faith allows.

As for this girls parents, are you kidding me? That is the worst sense of logic I have ever heard! Why would they not want her to have sex with a kid her own age? Why would they even want her to have sex at all? Parents like these are the reason there are so many babies having babies!
