Ronald Savela Had A Snack Attack - Teen Jailed After Burglarizing Woman’s Home To Search For A Snack

Sheboygan, WI (The Weekly Vice) - Ronald Savela Jr., a 17-year-old Wisconsin teen was charged Thursday after he burglarized a neighbor's home to search for a snack.

According to Sheboygan police, officers were contacted Wednesday after a woman discovered a basement window in her home had been broken out.

Savela was identified as a suspect because he had entered the woman's home using the same window some time last year.

Investigators say Savela admitted to smashing the woman's window with a rock before entering her home. When asked why he burglarized her home, he stated he was searching for a snack. He then left the home after he was unable to find something to eat.

Savela was booked into jail on a charge of felony attempted burglary. Charged as an adult under Wisconsin law, Savela faces up to 4 years in jail.

J-Bugg I think you missed the fact that he had done this to the same person 4 years ago. He's either after something else or 4 years ago he found a really terrific snack in her house.

I'm not buying HIS snack story. He could have went to the 7-11 and only been charged with shoplifting.

Ida I didn't miss that part at all. I just think there are more horrible crimes going on the world,to charge a dumb kid with a felony for breaking and entering. Further more if he was after something else then why wasn't the rest of the house raided like her cabinets?

Yeah, four years is exceessive....but he won't get four years.

Four years appears to be the maximum for any burglary - which leaves room for mitigating circumstances.

I'll bet he gets off with minimal jail time (if any) and will be ordered to pay restitution for the repair of the window.

Hey J~Bugg, I get what you are saying, but think about this - maybe some of the serious felons would have changed their path if they had been punished early? It has to start somewhere - we can't keep just cleaning up the big messes and never touching the little ones. Besides, think of it this way - breaking into someone's HOME is a terrible thing to do. If you have ever been the victim of it, the sense of violation is drastic. Even if it was just a 17 year old kid.

Personally, I would rather see the kid in some kind of boot-camp facility than jail, but we can't just continue to ignore bad behavior because "someone is doing worse stuff".

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
I'm not saying don't punish the little crimes.I just don't think they should go to jail. Our prison system is over flowing with criminals as it is. Boot camp or something else equally as horrible would be perfect!!.That's all I have to say it's Thanksgiving I'm gonna go get eat some turkey now!!
