Jacksonville Beach, FL (The Weekly Vice) - Rodney Bolton, a 38-year-old Florida man was arrested Friday after he attempted to steal a Ferret from a pet shop by shoving the animal down his pants.
According to Jacksonville Beach police, Bolton was inside a Pet Supermarket pet store when he placed a ferret down his pants and promptly exited the store.
Investigators say a 17-year-old boy who was a witness to the theft confronted Bolton out in the store's parking lot. The Ferret bit the teen after Bolton squeezed the animal and then shoved it in the teen's face.
Bolton was booked into the Duval County Jail on charges of retail theft and simple battery with a "special weapon." Bolton, who is listed as being homeless, remains incarcerated in lieu of an undisclosed bond amount.

Hell, they are just doing this man a favor by giving him a roof over his head and 3 meals a day!
I bet he is living it up like he is in a 5 star hotel! Except for not having his alcohol of course.. and possibly drugs?
If he were stealing food or something valuable and easily sold I'd understand, but what in the blue hell is a homeless person ever going to do with a ferret?

That was my first thought too Rob T. I would think there would be plenty of stray cats and homeless dogs around if he wanted the companionship of a pet. Besides, ferrets stink.
Ida; I would be willing to bet the ferret smelled better than he did.
I love ferrets, but will never have one because of the smell.
As for this guy... I agree.. But most "homeless" people aren't really homeless. They shack up with a friend or live at a community center - which likely wouldn't want a ferrett anyway.
That ferret would eventually become gator food.
Ferrets have very sharp claws and teeth. Somehow I can't see shoving one down my pants. The carnage could be awful.

The title of this one alone compelled me to read it. I did get quite a laugh out of it but the fact that a homeless man was stealing a ferrett rather then food is odd to say the least. im thankful it wasnt a snack or skunk he squeesed and tossed at the youth, that would have really sucked!
