Drunk Couple Found Inside Neighbor’s Home - Blames Alcohol For Burglary

Des Moines, Iowa (The Weekly Vice) - Shantel Morrison, 31, and her boyfriend Joshua Pray,30, were arrested Wednesday after they went out for the night, got hammered and then returned home....... someone else's home, that is.

According to Des Moines police, Morrison and Pray were so intoxicated when the headed home from a night on the town, they were apparently unable to tell their home apart from a neighbor's home..... a neighbor who lives two blocks away from them.

Javier Pagannazario, 29, and his wife Genoveva were awaken before dawn Sunday after hearing footsteps in an upstairs room of their home. When Javier investigated the noise, he found Pray asleep on the couch. Upon discovery, Pray reportedly jumped up and ran out of the house through the front door.

Meanwhile, Genoveva found Morrison partially undressed downstairs. Upon discovery, Morrison reportedly fled from the home through it's backdoor. The couple then made their way to a van parked in the driveway and drove off.

The homeowners were able to provide police with the couple's license plate number, which led to their arrest.

The couple later told police they were simply too intoxicated to recognize the house they were in, however the homeowner's aren't buying the story. Pagannazario told police he later noticed $900 missing from his wallet.

Morrison and Pray were booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary.

I have gotten into the passenger seat of strange cars a couple of times (quickly realizing my mistake and getting the hell out) even passed out in a strange yard once, but to mistake a house as your own? They must have been really trashed.

About the so-called $900 missing- I don't buy that story. I thinl they were simply too drunk to rob someone, especially if they passed out! He could have reported that missing for insurance purposes...

I agree Juggs. If they intended to burglarize they wouldn't park in the driveway, pass out on the couch, and get 'partially undressed'. - and - Who carrys 900 bucks in cash?

That must have been a GREAT party!

(Upstairs/Downstairs??? Is this some kind of split level?)

some houses really look similar... and you guys are right, nobody has 900 in cash on them, especially not in their wallet.
not if you live there anyway

This story is just funny to me! I can understand confusing a house for your own in a drunk state.Where I live almost all of the houses look exactly the same. As for the home owners saying that 900 bucks was missing.Well these people saw a window of opportunity and went for it. Unfortunately if you honestly have that amount of cash in your wallet alone, then why don't you live in a better neighborhood??,or at the very least have a security system installed!!

I almost got into the wrong car in broad daylight while sober. The key was not working and the tall intimidating owner asked if he could help me? I was very embarrassed. So, being so drunk after drinking shots to not know your whereabouts is believable. Very sad alcohol is legal and causes problems. The $900 is unbelievable taken by drunks that would rather sleep and cant see straight enough to mistake a house. Shame on the homeowner for lying to police about the missing money and not knowing the difference between an accident and real burglars that are out to harm.

We didn't steal any money from those scurves, we were really drunk they told us we were cool and asked us to leave, but they know we have good jobs and savings so they lied. By the way neither 1 of use served any jail time except we had to pay 10,000 each to bond out of jail and like 4000 in attorney fees, the charges were dropped after a week. Dang that was the most expensive night I've ever had.
