Chicago, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) - Clinton Watkins, a 23-year-old West Side Chicago man was jailed for attempted murder after he allegedly shot his girlfriend during a domestic dispute.
According to police, Watkins shot his 21-year-old girlfriend in her chest at his home in the Austin neighborhood Saturday around 9:45 a.m., critically wounding her.
Investigators state that there was an argument between the two prior to the shooting.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. She was in critical condition, but her injuries appear to be non life-threatening.
Watkins was booked into jail on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery. Bond amount was not available.

The injury in and of it's self can be considered non-life threatening while the patient is still considered to be in critical condition. If she is placed on a ventilator, even if the sole purpose of doing so is to help her to recover more quickly this alone will automatically put her in the critical category as she must be placed in ICU with 24/7 nursing/physician care. Also any person placed in an Intensive Care Unit, is automatically considered critical even if expected to fully recover from the injury.
