Kileen, Texas (The Weekly Vice) - Shela Heights, a 22-year-old Texas woman has been arrested after she allegedly used a clothes iron to burn her 14-month-old daughter.
According to Killeen police, officers were dispatched to Metroplex Hospital after doctors reported a case of possible child abuse.
When officers arrived, hospital staff told them that the child had burns in the shape of an iron across her chest and abdomen - and that the story given to them by the child's mother didn't add up.
Investigators say they spoke with Heights, who told them the child fell on the iron by herself. After examining the iron's shape and the burn impressions left on the child's body, it was determined that the iron had been pressed against the child's skin intentionally.
Heights was booked into jail on charges of reckless injury to a child causing bodily injury. She is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

How does a 14 month-old baby 'fall' on an iron? You should have known that cock n bull story wasn't going to work.

Even if the child HAD "fallen on an iron" the question remains: what was an iron doing within reach of a child? If it was sitting on an ironing board, the child should have been kept away from the ironing board all together in the event she knocked it over (my girls intentionally try to knock over an end table at our house all the damn time).
Do people think about things before they say them?

OMG this is soo stupid. I'm just trying to imagine holding a 14 month old down and listening to them scream while the skin sizzles. How can a human bein actually enjoy that?? What a sick fuck.. That child will probably have those scars all her life.
What's really going to be rough is when that poor little thing has to explain how she GOT those burns. Can you imagine having to tell someone "Oh that? Yeah, I got that when my psycho bitch mom burned me with an iron when I was a baby."
The injustice of our justice system is it does not allow an eye for an eye. If it did a lot of this sh*t would never happen.
East, I wish that were true. I don’t think consequences really detour the truly ignorant and violent people of our society. States that have the death penalty still have murders. It would probably be nice for the victims anyway. I am sure there would be some level of satisfaction. But in this case the little girls scares are far deeper than her skin.
I hate to say it, but there needs to be a quick, easy process for people to drop off unwanted kids. So we can save them before it's too late.
There are people out there that are just plain, sick, twisted, and angry. That doesn't preclude them from breeding. And because they really don't want or love these kids, they abuse and/or neglect them.
These stories never end...
They still have murders because the system we have for killing those on Death Row is completely inefficient. It takes 20 years to kill someone, and quite a few prisoners die of natural causes/diseases before we even get around to sticking a needle in them.
That's why I say if you're convicted and sentenced to death, we get to take you out back as soon as the trial's over, call out the firing squad, and shoot the crap out of you. Call it "inhumane" all you want - a couple hundred bullets is going to kill you pretty quick, and I hardly think the majority is interested in whether or not a mass murderer or child rapist feels pain before he does.
Also - victim/victim's family gets the first shot.

I thought they had a "safe haven" law where they could drop unwanted babies off at churches,hospitals,etc.?? Not only that but if you dont want a kid, maybe just maybe,you should keep your legs closed or get on birth control. poor baby and a worthless piece of shit so-called mom.

to everyone that has something negative to say fuck you all! you dont know the situation and its none of yall business. i have never been on walfare ass holes and i am a single parent that child had a freak accedent. if you know anything why would someone with sence take anyone to the hospital if they harm them. dumb ass people always ointin the finger expecially WHITE PEOPLE, im not a statistic fuck off and mind ya business punks.
