Tulsa, Oklahoma (The Weekly Vice) - Melody Brooke Larson, a 30-year-old Oklahoma woman was arrested Friday after police found her children living in a home filled with feces, uncapped drug needles, blood, broken glass and a stock of methamphetamine.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers who obtained a search warrant and entered Larson's home to find four children (ages 1, 2, 3, and 10) living in deplorable conditions.
Investigators say they found Larson in the living room with three of the children present. Inside the home officers found drug needles throughout the home (capped and uncapped), 28 grams of meth, human feces on the floor and human blood sprayed on the wall of the bathroom.
"There was human blood that was sprayed on the wall of the master bath from someone using a needle to ingest drugs. These needles with human blood were within reach of a child," said Tulsa Police Cprl. Kurt Gardner.
Officers also found broken glass on the kitchen floor, overflowing trash cans and dirty clothing that littered most rooms of the house.
Larson was booked into jail on four counts of felony child endangerment, trafficking in methamphetamine, and six outstanding warrants for various traffic infractions.

You would think the meth would give her the energy to clean her house. It never works out that way though....
Aside from the sunken cheeks she doesn't look like a meth head. Of course there may be a mouth full of melted teeth under there who kows.
O.k here is the bigger question though .....What's with all the feces? What happened to the good old days when your house could be deplorable enough to be on the news with out the presence of the poopy?I swear it is like people are having a contest, "I'll take the feces and up you needles and blood" Wtf
That was my first thought too Juggs. When are they going to come up with a drug that makes you want to whirl through that pile of dishes, laundry, and blast through vacuuming and dusting?
A lawyer is going to jump all over this statement:

How can you tell it was someone using a needle to ingest drugs????
Cops don't help the case when they try to 'help the case'. Just present the evidence and let the jury draw their own conclusion. Otherwise a slick lawyer will have the four children back home in a blur.
I agree Weberly. There have been several stories on here lately where people are living in these type of conditions. It blows my mind. Those poor kids. This woman should be shot for having her babies living in a toilet like that just because of her selfishness.
The oldest kid is probably going to be OK but the 1,2, and 3 year old are most likely retarded in some fashion or other. Meth and pregnancy do not mix well at all.

Eastside - of course she doesn't know who the fathers are. But good for you, trying to remain optimistic. Although...I notice you pluralized "father," so I guess you're probably not buying that all of them have the same dad. -=0)
Ida - if there was blood on the needles and drugs in the syringe and drugs present in the blood samples that were (presumably) swabbed from the walls, and if there's an expert who can testify as to the splatter pattern that would be most consistent with blood spurting from a missed vein...then the prosecutor probably won't have too much trouble. You're right though - it probably would have been best for the officer NOT to jump to conclusions.
Ida, Juggs, they do make such a drug. Mini Thins. Not sure how I would have made it through college and two jobs without it.
This is a horrible situation, and i was shocked when i heard it. It's always sad when people put their children in danger, and it always seems it's the people you'd least expect. This is my sister, and i never, in a million years would have guessed that i'd see her face in the news for child endangerment and drug charges.
My sister has always been an excellent mother, and an all around great person. All of this (drug use/trafficking, child endangerment) has developed in the past year- she was not on meth while pregnant (the ages of the kids in the news is incorrect). It all followed some rather horrific experiences, including the death of her husband, and a near-fatal car accident. One reader commented above that she should be shot- This caught me off-guard, because if i were the one reading this, and was totally unconnected to the person, i would most assuredly say the same thing. However, my first reaction was to be angry that someone would say that about her. It's interesting how easy it is to forget that the people you hear about in the news are loved by someone, somewhere,and that they still care what happens to them, even when they make horrible choices.
The kids are all healthy and in excellent shape, and are in the care of family, not in foster care, as many of the news sources say. They are surrounded by those who love them dearly and want nothing but the best for them.

Thank you for sticking up for Brooke, Nick. This has to be incredibly difficult for your family. People say the stupidest and most incensitive things when they can do it without looking someone in the face. I pray Brooke gets the help she needs to address her deep pain and need, making her whole and able to be united with her children, who must miss her very much.

Nick, I am sorry for your family. I am sure this has to be a difficult time for you, your parents and the rest of your family. I wasn’t trying to add to your anguish when I wrote the post and you are right, it is easy sometimes to forget that most everyone has someone or many who love and care about them. I wrote the post directly after reading the story, so needless to say the only thing on my mind were those children living in biohazard like conditions. Me saying that she should be shot was hasty, harsh and uncalled for. I wrote the post out of anger. But in the same breath, there is absolutely NO excuse for what she did. Everyone has some sort of tragedy in their lives. Punishing your kids and living a self loathing lifestyle isn’t the answer. Being a father of two myself I get very fired up when I read / hear stories like this one. Believe you me Beth I am not a shy person. I am very outspoken and proactive when it comes to child abuse. Omg, Brooke left her husband then he killed himself.
she then married an abusive man that beat her in front of the kids, she stayed with him after being convicted for domistic assult in the presant of minors.
2 monthes later he did the same only more sevear.
She's a loser and always have been .
Mentaly I'll and has used drugs ever since I've known her.

Teacher I’ve known Brooke for about 15 to 20 years although I lost contact with her for the last 10 or so I know she wasn't always like that it sounds like you have an unrelated personal issue with Brooke and so you’re talking out the side of your neck. This is a terrible thing that happened can you tell me you’re perfect. Drugs are a terrible thing that is destroying the people in this world if people would spend as much time trying to find a real solution for drug addiction as they did gossiping about the people, maybe we wouldn't be having this discussion
