Lincoln, Nebraska (The Weekly Vice) - Joshua Ironshell, a 28-year-old Nebraska man was charged Tuesday on allegations he beat 2-year-old boy to a pulp - fracturing the toddler's back and then denied the boy medical care until he began having seizures.
According to Lincoln police, Ironshell was in the shower with a 2-year-old boy he was watching when he beat the child with such force, both he and the boy slipped and fell.
Investigators say Ironside suspended the boy by the arm while striking the child's back, legs and buttocks. Afterwards, Ironside and the child's mother noticed severe bruising around the boy's back and groin area, however they refused to seek medical help, fearing they would be arrested on child abuse charges.
Several days later, the child began having seizures, whereby he was finally taken to the hospital.
The incident, which occurred in mid-September, sent the little boy to the hospital with injuries to his back and skull. The child was then flown to Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha where he was treated for spinal fractures, bleeding on the brain and multiple bruises and abrasions.
Ironshell was booked into the Lancaster County Jail on charges of first-degree assault and felony child abuse. His bail was set at $50,000.
The mother was not charged in the case .

I hope this punk has a good time getting the shit kicked out of him in prison. But where are the charges for the mother??? If she gets to walk away from this there is no justice.

I will never understand what drives a grown-ass (excuse for) man abuse an innocent child to this extent. I feel like I read stories like this one much too often... and it never gets easier.

I went to school with this guy and I can't believe he did this. This is NOT like him at all. He is not mean spirited I wonder how he could of done this to an innocent child. I guess you you never know.
all of u dont know anything about the mother ...she is one of my best friends...and for all of u to pass judgement without knowing her is wrong...and it was JOSH that feared to be arrested not her she had no idea..the article is worng...she wantedto get help but he told her that the baby was fine and she trusted him! maybe she is guilty of bad judgement but thats it ....she loves her son very very much we ALL do she would never do anything to hurt him...she can barely put him in timeout let alone "allow" someone to abuse her son so SHUT THE EFF UP if u dont know all th facts!...and this man deserves to pay for what he did to my beloved nephew....

The article is not wrong. If you know a child is hurt, and someone tells you to "trust them", that doesn't mean you sit there while the child is dying.
She's lucky she hasn't been arrested and charged with child neglect or child endangerment for not getting help - and I don't give a damn what Josh said.

When I first heard about this, I thought....OH MY GOD, almost everybody would brag this guy up, about his personality, his artwork and who he's been with, or what he's done....he's the SHIT!! All I hear is talk about Joshua Iron Shell, NONE OF YOU talk or are concerned about what happened or what will become of this child!! What if this was your child?? Well guess what....NONE of you know this guy!! YOU thought you did...and for this WOMAN that he's with, for her to NOT inform the proper authorities, when this happened or maybe it’s happened before...I hope she rots in hell!! I don't know either one of them, but when it comes to abusing a child, whether it's GOD, the authorities or the inmates, you will get what's coming to you!! (When the INMATES find out about what he has done to this child, it won't be enough, this baby still has his whole life ahead of him...BUT, the baby will never be the same.) Nobody wants to say anything about the fact that he's probably done this before!! I'll bet you anything that he has, ask the mother(s) of his 2 children....I'm sure they'll both deny that he has done this before for fear they'll be judged in the same manner, but there's a reason why he's no longer with them!! Or maybe he was on drugs when this incident happened, wasn't he arrested before on drug charges?? He looks like a CRACKHEAD!!
