Tusla, Oklahoma (The Weekly Vice) Johnnie Joe Hobbs, a 47-year-old convicted sex offender burned to death Thursday after setting himself on fire as authorities attempted to serve a warrant on him.
According to the Tusla County Sheriff's Office, state parole board officers were sent to Hobbs' home to revoke his parole, but discovered he wasn't inside the home.
The officers then checked out a cargo van parked near the home and found Hobbs hiding inside.
Officers didn't have a chance to arrest Hobbs.
Vowing he would never be taken back to jail, Hobbs doused himself and the van with gasoline and ignited it, causing the van to explode into flames.
Investigators with the Tulsa Fire Department stated they did not immediately enter the van because of the danger it imposed on emergency workers. Authorities were also concerned with the prospect of Hobbs having a weapon.
Emergency workers were able to enter the van after it had burned for about 30 minutes. Hobb's charred remains were found inside.
Deputies say the officer had intended to serve Hobbs with three protective orders, in addition to revoking his suspended sentence. He was originally convicted on charges of showing obscene material to a child, lewd molestation and making lewd proposals to a child.

Now all we need to do is have the rest of the sex offenders follow his example and the world would be a much safer place.
I am happy that this low life pervert has taken his life. This little fire that killed him is nothing to the fires of HELL he will find himself in forever. Also very happy the state will not keep this low life piece of crap up for years. At least you did something right for once you pervert...

This guy is a P.O.S, but you have to admit he has some huge kahunas! I don't think I could sit in a van and burn to death. I think I would rather go to prison. Thank God he took himself out though... Now we don't have to depend on the prisoners to do it...

Ida, you read my mind. I'm picturing a 70's model with the words "Free Candy" scrawled on the side.
Had one of my children been his victim, I would find a great deal of satisfaction in knowing he died what had to be an excruciating death.
His actions also reinforce the theory that child molesters have an especially tough time in jail, and that's great to know.

I'm sure their decision that to save his life was too dangerous to the rescue workers was really just to give him time to die. Good call.
