Mountain Home, AR (The Weekly Vice) - Jason Marshall, a 29-year-old Mountain Home man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly attacked his wife with an axe, after abusing her and their son in a fit of rage.
According to Baxter County deputies, Marshall attacked his wife on Monday with his fists, causing injuries to her back, head, arms, and pelvic area.
When her 9-year-old son tried to intervene, Marshall picked him up and slammed his head against the wall.
Investigators say Marshall’s wife, son, and 16-year-old daughter managed to get away from the deranged man. As they were driving away, Marshall reportedly picked up an axe and swung it at his wife, barely missing her. He hit the vehicle instead.
An ambulance was called to the scene and transported 41-year-old Elizabeth Ann Marshall, and her 9-year-old son to the Baxter Region Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
When deputies tried to arrest Marshall, he allegedly resisted arrest, forcing deputies to subdue him with a Taser.
Marshall was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center where deputies say he continued to be combative and caused damage to the booking area. He was placed in a holding cell in restraints.
Marshall was charged with domestic battery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. He was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
Incidentally Marshall was on parole at the time of the attack because of another conviction. Investigators say that he spent time in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for attacking the same woman with a knife.

This is one angry, ugly man! His wife should have gotten away from him the first time when he attacked her with a knife! He was in prison, that made it easy. Oh, well, love is blind, I guess.
Hopefully this time she will be a bit wiser, for her son’s sake!

I don't condone violence, but... I mean... LOOK AT HIM! I would be angry and violent ALL the time, too, if I looked like him! I can't help but feel bad for the guy. I feel worse for his kids and wife, though.

CDXX is right, I kind of feel sorry for the guy a little myself, but his actions are unforgivable. He is lucky to have a woman at all; he needs to treat his wife good as gold.
He should finish the job and save the taxpayers some money. I hate it when people start something that they don't finish.
Somehow I just can't see a happy ending for this guy.
I want to know how you go after another human being with an ax and only get aggravated assault charges? Couldn't they charge him with attempted murder?
Last Anonymous - Arkansas law dictates that an individual must have taken a substantial step in committing the actual murder. A disregard for human life in the event of extreme recklessness does not necessarily constitute an attempted murder charge, as the courts have ruled that one can not have the "intention" to be reckless (intention negates the very idea behind the concept of recklessness).
Given the fact that Marshall threw the ax at the victims' car, rather than at the victims themselves, responding officers likely considered this to be more reckless and knew they wouldn't be able to show that Marshall had the criminal intent to actually commit murder.

I don't think he picks it. I think he uses a plunger. When I first saw this story I thought I read it wrong and he got hit with an axe.

First of all the wife is bipolar and every word out of her mouth is a lie.She lied to the cops about the knife incident.Then she went to his parole hearing and admitted she had lied to the cops about it.This boy has a heart of gold.He loves his son thats why he goes back to her.She is a freakin psycho!!
All you people are effing a-holes for saying crap about my brother that is very untrue. if you all knew the truth you would say his wife is derranged killer.she pulled a gun to her ex and pulled the trigger but it never went off.
