Huntley, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) - Peter J. Reilly, an 85-year-old Illinois man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly threatened a police sergeant with a BB gun during dispute over a parking ticket.
According Huntley Police, the incident began when Reilly entered the lobby of the Huntley Police Department around 2 p.m. and began complaining to a sergeant on duty about a parking ticket he had received.
During the conversation, Reilly reportedly became angry and pulled out a BB gun that was concealed under a hat he was carrying. Reilly then allegedly pointed the BB gun at the sergeant, who was protected behind a bulletproof glass.
Although Reilly refused to follow commands to drop the weapon, officers rushed the lobby and apprehended the man without further incident.
Police didn't realize the man was carrying a BB gun initially because it was equipped with a laser sight, similar to real handgun.
Reilly was booked into the McHenry County Jail on a charge of misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon. He was released after posting a $100 cash bond.
The Weekly Vice Opinion:
How surprising is that? A man walks into a police station and points a gun at an officer - yet he's charged with only a misdemeanor and gets out on a $100 bond?
Something tells me this county won't be worried about jail overcrowding any time soon.

What? No tasing? Oh, it's not Florida.
Hey, I want to see pictures of him being tackled by the cops!
I have a feeling 20,000 volts from a taser might actually do him some good.
He's damn lucky he didn't get shot!
i found your blog very informative and very scary...
some crazy people you have here.
Sounds like this guy has gone senile to me. Scary to think he is so far gone that pointing a fake gun at a cop is a good idea. ("His cheese has slid off his cracker" sounds appropriate right here)
I'm watching my grandmother decline right now. Thank god she doesn't have a car anymore and doesn't own any weapons.
I don't much care for police... so... Bravo, fella!
That's Huntley for you. It that happened in Chicago you know his head would be caved in ;)
