Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (The Weekly Vice) - 2009 has been a banner year for large groups of naked people protesting one thing or another. Now Philadelphia has entered the fray by hosting a naked protest bash all its own. Enter the Philly Naked Bike Ride, which took place Sunday.
Although PNBR organizers claim the event's goal is to "save the planet" by promoting fuel conservation while advocating a "positive body image," many riders who came out said they simply wanted to be naked. Some participants had no idea what the cause was supposed to be, but that didn't seem to be much of a concern as they took to the street wearing little or no clothing.
Full nudity was not required for the ride, as many riders wore bikinis, shorts, spandex or underwear. Many of those who stripped down further wore body paint.
Participants were, however, required to sign up in order to learn the meeting place, which was kept secret until ride time.
Nearly 1,000 participants showed up - about half the number of people event organizers were hoping for. The ride began near City Center Philadelphia and was scheduled to continue for about 90 minutes.

Why do these groups always have to have some kind of cause tied to their little venture. Why not just say, "we're riding nude because it may be the only opportunity some guys have to see a naked woman"..

She is kinda nerdy hot mostly as she has confidence. But the rest are fugly.
Amidst all of the really sad, sick things that appear on this website, not to mention, in the news, in general, it is really great to see an article which is light, innocent and joyous is this one. It really is a little bit of fresh air that dispels, to some extent, the heaviness, the worry, and the fear that seems to be engendered so often by reading the news these days.
Good for them! Promoting transportation that is healthy for the body both environmentally and from a health and fitness stance.
And yeah, if you get a little T&A in the bargain, all the more reason to show up and support it!
