Suntree, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Marcy Pappalardo, a 37-year-old Florida woman was arrested Friday on accusations of attempting to sell her 6-year-old son for gas money.
According to Melbourne Police, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call from a tow truck driver who told them a woman had just attempted to sell him her son in exchange for money to buy gas.
Investigators say the alleged offer came at a gas station near U.S. 1 and Lake Washington road at about 3 p.m. Friday.
The tow truck driver then reportedly followed Pappalardo who was driving a white sedan with her son and another female passenger. The driver called police from a cell phone while continuing to follow the woman.
Police stopped Pappalardo in Suntree, questioned her and then took her into custody as her son sat on the trunk of the car crying.
"You know, I have mixed feelings," said Roy Baijnath, the tow truck driver. "To see the kid crying like that on TV was tough. I caused that upon him and I have a kid of my own. But had it been the other way, where would the child be?"
Mallory Acher, who was the female passenger in the car, told police the tow truck driver requested sex from Pappalardo in exchange for gas money.
"When she refused, he made up this story for police," said Acher.
The child has been released into the custody of his father.
Pappalardo was booked into the Brevard County Jail on charges of neglect/cruelty toward a child, drug possession without a prescription and retail theft of over $300.

She should have traded that old car in during the "Cash for Clunkers" deal. Her car only gets about 300 miles per six year old.
Uh... instead of intending to use the cash for gas, it looks like she should have put it toward a haircut that didn't make her look like a complete bunghole.
Humm. Nothing says "I didn't do it" like the old falling bra strap trick does.
If she tried to sell the kid, perhaps she should have been charged with engaging in human trafficking though.
No shit what is up with that hair? And why is it always the ugly chicks who are like "oh he just wanted sex and now he is lying because he is mad that I didn't give him any". Please, no one buys that! Especially in this case! No one wanted to have sex with you Marcy Darcy, get over it!
She must not know who the baby daddy is. If she did, she could get gas money every month out of him. Trailer park logic never ceases to amaze me.
With any luck the poor kid is now done with her forever and may even end up with a decent homelife.

I personally think this a prostitution deal that went bad. By her mugshot picture, you can tell she took time on her make-up (even though she still looks like sh*t). I am guessing the guy was negotiating with her...saw that she had a kid in the car and had a change of heart and CYA'ed (cover your @ss)and made up the gas for kid part, yet still had enough of soul in him to report her.
Just my opinion.
Someone needs to check and make sure all of children are accounted for. She may have filled up before.
