“It’s Not Pornography, It’s Art” - Nude Model Arrested During Public Nudity Photo Shoot At New York’s Metropolitan Museum Of Art

New York City, NY (The Weekly Vice) - Kathleen Neill, a 26-year-old model was arrested
Wednesday at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art after participating in a mad-dashed nude photo shoot for Brooklyn based photographer, Zach Hyman.

The photo shoot was just the latest of Hyman's quest to photograph nude women in public places.

Hyman and the model entered the museum and waited until a security guard strolled away. Once given the all-clear, the nude model disrobed and commenced poses while Hyman got his shots.

"Everything was going perfect until the very end," said Hyman. "Then it became a worst-case scenario."

While Hyman was not arrested, his model was - and she now faces a lewdness charge.

"I had to make sure that girl was turned over to the police," said the MET security guard on duty Wednesday. "There were little kids in here watching the whole thing."

Hyman's previous shoot was about a week ago when he captured images of a nude woman on a subway. One subway passenger screamed while an elderly man started shaking - but otherwise, most passengers seemed to hardly notice.

I know it's a different spelling...But the idea of a guy named Hyman shooting photo's of nude women is a bit...Funny. And as the article states,Hyman wasn't busted.

Having said that,I wonder if he'll spring the dough for her defense?

"I don't know dear"

"Hey Mom, Suzie at school is starting to get those bumpy things on her chest too, I told her they looked funny"

"Yes, that's nice dear"

"Hey Mom, am I supposed to be seeing a naked girl hopping around like that?"

"Yes dear, thats what they put in museums these days"

"Wow Mom, why are your eyes gettin' all watery and stuff?"

"I had such fun in college before I met your father"

As I see it, this is New York City not only trying to bare the breasts but the whole body and call it art. Just get on your internet or a nudist colony people if you want to see naked people and you can call it art all you want.

It's obvious there will always be someone who wants to push the limits or the law.
The body can be beautiful but these are just flashers or teasers.

In the top photo the girl is rushing before she gets busted.
The girl below in the subway. If I was a man, I would think that was my opportunity for an open invitation. I would love to been a fly on the wall. What exactly were the men thinking at that time on the train?

That is not what I would call a model pose but a stripper pose on the pole, is it not? This is erotica form, so call it what it is. Am I the only one who sees it that way?

I think they should either fine the man along with the woman or confiscate his negatives and photo equipment. He will probably get away with it and be paid mega bucks for the pictures. Leading more to follow up after his footsteps calling everything they do in the name of art. It's the new scapegoat..but officer its just art.

Danny, I disagree about hardly noticing. I believe the men put up a good front, poker face. They might not have reacted and screamed like the woman and may not have been shaking like the old man. But unless the men were gay, I bet every one of them walked a little funny getting off of that train that day. Probably had to find the nearest bathroom.

If I would have been there, my thought would be, breathe, try to be open minded. The whole time thinking this has got to be one sick or stupid person to go around disrobing in front of total strangers. Who is to say she just added a stalker to her list. Hey look, but don't touch. And then they wonder why men are needy.

It's one thing for men to go out searching and looking. It's another thing when placed in front of them. It would have been funny as all get out, if someone had reached out and took her up on her invitation and grabbed it.

Or if a man would have stripped his clothes off and jumped in the shoot. Then what would have been the response?

I have to admit, that's one well-placed shadow...

If you ask me,I have a feeling half the people who complain about these girls, wish they had the nerve (and body) to do it themselves.

There are far more closet exhibitionists out there than people would ever believe..

justmyopinion said...

Jupiter, lol, you nailed it. You are on to me.
I know this is bad of me...but why couldn't it have been a man posing? Why must it always be a woman? Enough said.

ok, I lied, I feel a song coming on...

Look at that, look at that. Fastest thing on two feet. Look at that, look at that. She's just as proud as she can be

Here she comes, Boogity, Boogity There she goes, Boogity, Boogity And she ain't wearin' no clothes Oh, yes, they call her the Streak. Don't look Ethyl...

loved that song...

Can you identify the suspect?

Officer honestly...all's I saw was Two boobs and a ....well you know...but I got the picture right here on my cell phone camera...

Justmyopinion.... who says only females do crazy things like this?

Of course you're right... guys don't typically go to art galleries or subways.. but I assure you girls don't have all the fun.

At the museum, they always have school projects/fiele trips. I wonder if any pre teen boys were able to concentrate the rest of the field trip after seeing a naked girl. Me as a pre teen boy seeing a live naked women would have wrecked my concrentation on anything else for a good week.

Mom to Son - How did you like your musuem trip today

Son - Its was great I saw a shaved beaver

Mom - I thought you were at the musuem not the zoo??

Son- Sure Ahh Zoo, anyway, I cant talk now as I need to spank a monkey

I think its selfish-only thinking about themselves. If they were so desperate to do this for art-although i think this is more porn then art, then why couldn't they have hired actors and made a photoset to make it look like a train and same for the art gallery?
They wanted to do it for the shock factor and thats what adds to the selfishness.Theres a little child standing right there but they don't care. All they care about is selfishness and profits.

justmyopinion said...

iwinc..you said it much more eloquently and shorter than myself. Exactly! However, according to what I read elsewhere, the photographer only wants models that volunteer. As in not paid.

So you tell me why a professional photographer wants a professional model to work for free when it is their income? I think it was for her 5 minutes of fame, free publicity.

LeAnn said...

If I had been there with one of my children, I would have been so angry. It's not okay for kids to see that kind of stuff. I would personally be pushing the judge to throw the book at them. It's highly innapropriate behavior to be engaging in just for the sake of a stupid picture.

Ida_Slapter said...

Well said Iwinc.
The photographer could easily take a pic of the museum and the 'green screen' all the poses he wanted in the privacy of his studio.

Shameless publicity stunt.

iwinc said...

To Justmyopinion,

Theres alot of that on sites like modelmayhem.com
The photographer(or sometimes pornographer in my opinion)- will offer to do a shoot without model getting paid any money.
I think its called TFP-time for print or something.
Aspiring models will take them up on the offer because they get to keep prints which help to build up their portfolio to show agencies in the future.
Also like you mentioned some people will just jump at the chance to model whether they get paid or not because they just want their 15 minutes of fame/publicity.

Gosh, if anyone were to appear suddenly naked in public near me, I'd get so nervous, I'd lose my balance, accidentally knock the lid off my cup of soda, and spill my cold drink on their nipples. Of course I'd help clean them up, I'm not the one who is uncivilized.

Dear Lord.

What in the world do so many people have against the nude body of a beautiful woman?

And why exactly is it so wrong for a kid to see a naked woman? Is she posing sensually? Is she doing something sexually explicit? No?

Then why is it so difficult to explain to your kid, "that's a naked person. Everyone's naked under their clothes, and the human body is nothing to be ashamed of."

Given that some of our greatest pieces of art feature nude men and women, I don't see what difference it makes for there to be nudity in modern art, despite the fact that the medium, method, and motivation may be different.

Americans thrive off of shock value. Just flip on the news. If we DIDN'T thrive on shock value, no one would ever visit The Weekly Vice.

We officially live in the most prudish country in the world.

Actually, this would be legal in New York. The law that prohibits indecent exposure in New York specifically makes an exception for "a performance, play, exhibition or show" and in the case of another photographer, Spence Tunnick, a Federal court ruled photography constituted performance. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1248/is_9_88/ai_65069520/

This is abuse. Kids were present. You swinging d*cks loose all sense when you see a naked woman. Well, you are no different then anyone else who practices moral relativism.

Kitsch said...

I live in a country with no common sense...Having said that....

This isn't art....and I seriously doubt any children were emotionally harmed by the viewing of a naked woman. The entire photo shoot is stupid and the reaction(s) by others just as asinine.

Kim Kardashian

Snuggies

Anonymous - check the definition of abuse - both legal and literary - before you throw that term around. This does not constitute abuse, either in a legalistic or literary sense.

And for the record - I don't have a dick, but I still don't see anything wrong with what this model did. Clearly this has nothing to do with genitalia - so what's my excuse?

And before you say I must not have children and that's why I'm so flippant about it - I do, actually, and I have no intention of raising my children to believe that the human body is something to be ashamed of. Which is why my girls won't be sitting on their fat asses every Friday and Saturday night eat cookies and playing with their twelve cats while watching Sex in the City, wondering where it all went wrong.

So anyone know where to get the uncensored version of these pics? lol
