Dayton, Ohio (The Weekly Vice) - Tommy Lee Johnson Jr., a 38-year-old Ohio man was arrested Monday after he dumped two children in the garbage and then refused to tell police where they were.
The children, a 1 1/2-year-old girl and an 8-month-old boy, are in protective custody after spending 13 hours in a garbage can - All thanks to Tommy Lee Johnson, who reportedly placed them in the trash and then refused to tell authorities where he had placed them, prosecutors say.
According to police, Johnson and the children's mother, Alisha Whitehead, were engaged in an argument Sunday night when he reportedly took the children from their home and fled into the night.
Police say Whitehead reported the incident and police, who were able to locate Johnson a few hours later, however the children could not be found. What's more, Johnson refused to tell authorities where he had left them.
Investigators say the children were finally discovered Monday morning after an employee of a local business discovered the children in a green plastic garbage can covered with mud and debris. Police believe the children had been inside the trash can for approximately 13 hours before they were discovered.
Investigators also say they obtained video surveillance which reportedly shows Johnson placing a stroller and other items into a dumpster near where he abandoned the children.
Officials say both children have been placed in foster care instead of the mother's care due to concerns about drug and alcohol abuse in the home. Authorities believe both Whitehead and Johnson have a history of drug and alcohol abuse.
Whitehead told investigators that Johnson consumed six 40-ounce bottles of beer and some of her prescription medication before leaving with the kids.
Johnson was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on felony charges of domestic violence, child endangering and inducing panic.

Lets see 6X40oz.=240oz. divided by 12oz.= 20beers+pills. No I do not think he has a habit. Nor do I think those kids should ever be given back.
Not having any info on the mother I can't say she is bad,however as long as she is with this clown the kids are better off elsewhere.
Isn't it a shame when people throw things away instead of recycling?
The Dayton Daily News will not publish this guy's photo in any article to do with the case. Another reason why the Dayton Daily Snooze continues to lose subscribers.
