San Antonio, TX (The Weekly Vice) - John Calvin Hegedus, a 32-year-old teacher at Holy Name Catholic School was arrested Monday on accusations of soliciting sex from fifteen year old boy.
A Guadalupe County Jury indicted Hegedus after he allegedly used text messages and email to seduce the boy and then traveled to the boy's home to sexually assault him.
Police say Hegedus sent the boy nearly 100 messages on Easter Sunday before going to the boy's home in Seguin, Texas to carry out the assault. When Hegedus arrived at the boy's home, police were waiting for him.
Authorities say the boy's parents were well aware of the situation and had let it develop to the point where Guadalupe County sheriffs could take over and make the arrest before the boy was put in any serious danger.
Hegedus now faces two counts each of online solicitation of a minor and attempted sexual assault of a child. The grand jury's charges mean that Hegedus faces between 2 and 50 years in prison, depending on which ones he is convicted of, if any.
Hegedus currently remains incarcerated at the Guadalupe County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

There are two really disturbing things about this case: 1) That Hegedus allegedly knew the victim for over two years, having first met him during his time as a seminarian at a church in Seguin, the boy's hometown. 2) This is the second story of a person of power in a religious community taking advantage of a young boy. Let's hope this trend is not coming back.

On another note can you imagine being a young child persued by this Neanderthal? Terrifying I'm sure.
I hope he doesn't use his 'celebrity status' to hoodwink justice.

Want to know what's even scarier? If this young man is actually gay, his parents now have ammunition to "prove" that gay men are just pedophiles, and shame the kid into acting 'straight'.
I'm just amazed the parents didn't notify authorities immediately. What does that say about them?
