Alsip, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) - Four Tweedle Dumbs dig up HUNDREDS of graves with the brain-storm idea of dumping the bodies, re-selling the plots and then pocketing the cash.
Carolyn Towns, Keith Nicks, Terrance Nicks and Maurice Daley, are facing felony charges after they allegedly dug up more than 300 caskets at an historic African American cemetary.
Cook County Sheriff, Tom Dart, said authorities were originally called in to investigate “financial irregularities” at the Burr Oak Cemetery. Deputies found far more than irregularitis. They found four asshats with a twisted plan.
Most of the alleged grave tampering happened in the older, back lots where not a lot of people come visit. He initially put the number of disinterred bodies at 100, but now estimates the number at 300.
The owners of the cemetery are not believed to be involved. The FBI, forensic scientists, and funeral directors are all helping with the effort to figure out how many graves and been disturbed and where the remains are.
The four are facing felony charges of dismembering a human body.

Pathetic Dogs! I grew up near that cemetery, and I know many people who have loved ones their. In fact, I've been there myself.
I usually don't advocate harsh sentences for non-violent crimes, but I feel that they deserve to do a few years.
You should see the photos in the Chicago newspapers. They are heartbreaking. The management company is equally culpable, as the place has been in a state of disrepair for years. Maybe the city of Alsip doesn't want to take it over, but something must be done...

Pretty sad. The CNN article said they litteraly dumped the bodies out and used power equipment to flatten them out to make space.
This is a disgusting development.
@BP! - I would remind you that there was an equally disturbing event at a Georgia crematorium a couple of years aog and that was all white so this is not limited by race or racism.
On a humorous note, I'm amused that they were found to be infected with " irregularitis". hehe

BP - I gotta agree with the other poster - this is not a race issue. This is greed, pure and simple, and greed is not at all limited by race.
I think four(4) of the empty holes should be filled with their sorry asses. Also I live in Georgia and the crematorium was operated by a black family. I think one blogger said they were white. I do however agree that it was not about race,just pure greed by loosers...

On the Georgia case. TRI-STATE Crematory was run by Ray Brent Marsh. A black man of African dissent. Sorry Dave, but no whites were involved in that case unless you include the victims.
My apologies to BP! and others - abusing dead bodies is entirely a black problem.
My initial googling of the crematorium situation had not informed me it was a black business. Now I see it was.

It's also sad that Republicans are trolling negative stories and trying to attach Obama's name to then.
Makes you think who is the lower of the two, criminal grave diggers or racist republicans who use deceit to fool and rob a nation.
It's a tough call they are both on the same level.
Neat Blog! Well, in many respects, *thank god* the offenders are black in this case--could you imagine the outcry if 4 white staff members had done this to a bunch of black dead bodies? Even if the other case, as mentioned, did involve a black dude, I have to agree with those who assert greed (and stupidity--how long did they think they could continue this farce?) as the prime mover here, not race.

Does anyone know if Carolyn Towns, the infamous grave robber, was a Christian? Did she commonly say upon a greeting have a blessed day? If so she is yet another example of these Christian women who wear their religions on their sleeves, but are extremely Jezzebellic. I have heard many women say have a blessed day, but notice how horribly they treat each other and their fellow human beings. What' up with that? Whatever happened to walk the walk and not talk the talk?

Mr. Concerned. I agree with you, there are many Christians who are fakes. All people are inherantly flawed - including me.
But one person here and there who proves himself an idiot does not define an entire belief system.

Typical blacks? If one were to accept and extend your twisted logic to white people,one could make a case that white folks are sexual deviants. Just look at the majority of the subjects at this very site.
Having said that,I'm surprised many more people responding are not applauding the efforts of these criminals. After all,"greed is good" is a common tenet in our country/world today. It's all about the profit. Accountability and community be damned. Even by those claiming to be religious. But,some of us are aware of the truth. The most vile and foul individuals among us use religion as a facade to shield themselves from unwanted scrutiny. Hell,anyone believing in zombies has a screw loose in my opinion. Moreover, in some circles,if these miscreants had been white and wearing suits,they would be applauded for their twisted efforts. Or at the very least,the race of the miscreants would not have been mentioned in the comments.
I have a hard time accepting that the owners (and possibly others) not knowing what was going on. Were the owners not paying attention to their business interests? We're a stupid country. The comments suggest this. Many of the subjects of this site suggest this. It's always predictable some idiot will invariably include partisan politics into the comments. So,(when in Rome) I can't say every person I've known that voted republican is stupid,but,I can say unequivocally that every stupid person I've encountered has been a republican partisan hack.
I for one,don't see a wave of change from this mentality in the near future.
