Yakeisha Ward Serves Breakfast With Attitude - Waitress Shoots Customer Who Complained About Slow Service

Manning, South Carolina (The Weekly Vice) -- Yakeisha Ward, a 29-year-old Waffle House waitress from Manning, SC was arrested Sunday morning after shooting a customer who complained about her service.

According to the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office, customer Crystal Samuel was dining at a Waffle House restaurant in Manning when her waitress took issue with complaints about her job performance .

Deputies say Samuel had ordered breakfast at about 4:00 Sunday morning. But when she realized she didn't get what she had ordered, she spoke up.

"I thought I was gonna get me an All-Star", said Samuel who was referring to a popular menu item that includes grits, sausage, toast, eggs and a waffle. The problem became worse when Samuel's friends were able to eat while Samuel waited for her food.

Investigators say Ward (the waitress) and Samuel began arguing about the slow service when Ward jumped over the counter and confronted Samuel, insisting she had to leave.

When the altercation continued out into the parking lot, Ward reportedly retrieved a gun from her vehicle and brandished it during the dispute. Ward's gun then reportedly discharged - causing a bullet fragment to strike Samuel in the arm, according to Clarendon County Sheriff, Randy Garrett.

"Deputies were close by - when they rolled up in the parking lot, the victim and the suspect were still engaged in a fight," said Garrett.

Deputies say Ward then struck Samuel in the head with the gun before they could get the confrontation ended.

Ward was booked into jail on charges of assault and batter with intent to kill. She was released after posting 10% of a $5,000 bond.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

We haven't confirmed this for ourselves, but local media claims they found Ward back at Waffle House following her release from jail. Kinda makes you wanna go order yourself a Grand Slam breakfast from this particular Waffle House, doesn't it?

Go if you must - but whatever you do, don't forget the tip.

So many comments pop into my head.

The last paragraph says, "assault and batter".

Is that a typo or a little play with words? Batter... pancake... batter...

Going to a Waffle House or Denny's and complaining about the food or service is akin to leaving a whore house and saying, "I really didn't feel loved."

My favorite part of this story is- "I thought I was gonna get me an All-Star"!!!

If that is really her myspace page, she needs to revisit it herself.

Crazy...I think I'll stick to Denny's and IHOP for my crappy breakfasts.

She seems to have multiple personalities ....don't none of those things go together.

I laughed my ass off when I saw this last week.

From what I understand they did have the waitress working when she got out on bail but I'm pretty sure that was a short-lived and bad decision on the manager's fault. Waffle House corporate policy is that anyone involved in a violent incident is terminated and put on the do not hire list. There are bound to be some disciplinary actions taken against the store manager and probably the district manager as well.

Hmmm only $5000 bond for assault with a deadly and intent to kill?? Bond for destruction of property is higher than that. The price they put on human life is disgraceful. Maybe she should have filed charges for them messin up her breakfast...the bond probly would have been higher then.

I worked for waffle house for 1 week, was fired for calling the hotline to report a fellow employee for rudeness to myself and customers. I should have shot her instead.
