Indio, California (The Weekly Vice) -- The Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival aka 'Coachella Fest' is often home base for demonstrator antics. Last weekend's festival was no exception.
While dozens of bands play, festival goers sometimes use the event to "challenge the establishment". Others simply use the event to burn out the eye sockets of other patrons by getting their "freak" on.
This time around, a man believed to be inebriated on something or other shocked onlookers by disrobing out in the open and then becoming engaged in a scuffle with officers who eventually used a stun gun to bring him into submission.
Officers asked the man repeatedly to cover up - while festival patrons urged him to continue. When officers began effecting an arrest, the crowd booed and warned them that "the whole world was watching".
Undaunted, the officer tased the man several times until he finally allowed officers to handcuff him.
A patron at the event captured the video above, which making it's rounds across Internet websites and forums as an example of "harsh police arrest tactics."
The Weekly Vice Opinion:
We know public nudity is being challenged in the U.S. and in some cases it is becoming more tolerated. Those who argue that the body is beautiful and shouldn't be hidden may have a point, but what about those cases where bodies aren't so beautiful? What should the limits be?
If nudity is "free speech" as one festival goer shouted, then it applies equally to all.
Let's say you're enjoying a Fish Sandwich at a McDonalds one day when suddenly you notice someone's 80 year old grandma sitting clam nekked at a table across from you? How are you liking her free speech rights right about then?
Yeah, we know that's a disturbing example to contemplate - but contemplate you must if you really want to give such displays a pass. What's right for one is right for all - and your rights have the ability to become my headache.
Places where nudity is contained in an area away from kids - and where it's forewarned might be alright. But not any time, any place, just because an assclown at a festival has smoked enough pot to not care any longer. What do you think?

Charlotte, I am the author and being stoned at this event is par for the course. It doesn't mean however that you aren't f'ed up on other things as well.
And to correct you. He wouldn't be in line for a hot dog, he would be in line for for sweets. Pot doesn't make you hungry for food, it gives you munchies for junk food.

Ok, I could care less about the nudity. The point was that the officers asked him to put his clothes back on!! By doing as he was asked politely ( I might add) several times he would then be aloud to continue to enjoy the festival with out ANY repercussions. He CHOSE not to do as he was asked. He CHOSE to fight!! And his FAT ASS was tased for it!!! And to the people saying the whole world is watching, yes they are and I bet most of them think, drunk, stupid, ugly, naked man with the ity bity penis deserved what he got!!! And this is comeing from a "liberal" in CA.
