Midland, Texas (The Weekly Vice) -- Kenzi Friday, a 23-year-old Geography teacher and cheerleader coach at Midland High School, in Midland, TX was arrested Friday on charges of having a sexual relationship with a male student.
According to the Midland Police Department, Friday was arrested on a charge of having an improper educator/student relationship with a 17-year-old male student. She was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
Investigators say Friday began a sexual relationship with the student around the start of the school year which continued until the beginning of April. The alleged incidences occurred at a home in Midland.
The allegations came to light after another teacher reported possible inappropriate activity between the student and teacher. An investigation was launched, leading to Friday's arrest.
Friday, a married 2004 Midland High graduate, has been with MISD since Feb. 2007. She submitted her resignation from the district on Friday morning.
If convicted of the charge, Friday faces at least two years and not more than 20 years in jail and up to a $10,000 fine.
“These are very serious allegations and the entire situation is upsetting to us all. We fully support the investigation and await more information from local law enforcement,” said Superintendent Sylvester Perez.

Really, there is no real crime here. The teacher did the kid a favor.
I find it odd that they are pretty much always kind of hot, dudes her age should be all over that.
Well, she's the same age my father was when he married my mother, who was 17. Gosh, maybe if they'd have locked old dad up, I wouldn't have to read this idiocy. I understand that she was in a position of authority, but can anyone explain to me how he was harmed? Really. I just don't get it.
