Manchester, Iowa (The Weekly Vice) -- Jesse Fierstine, a 32-year-old Iowa man was arrested Saturday after police say he beat his father over the head and then cut the man's pacemaker out of his chest with a pocket knife.
Yeah, you read that right - pocket knife.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Fierstine struck his 63-year-old father over the head with a flashlight and then beat him with a piece of firewood Saturday. Once his father was down, Fierstine proceeded to cut his father's chest open and dig out his pacemaker with a pocket knife.
Authorities were alerted by way of a 911 call at about 10:30 Saturday night.
The victim, identified as Charles Fierstine was rushed to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment. Details of his condition were still unknown as of Sunday night.
Fierstine was booked into the Delaware County Jail on a charge of attempted murder. Bail has not been set in the case.

First let me say that the term "crazy ass rednecks" is like a racial slur don't lump us all together. And it does not mean that some of us don't have 3 degrees in college and universities thank you~~~~my father died at 63 i could not fathom doing something that awful!!!! i was brought with respect, morals and values!! People like this are either possessed or are flat out of marbles! He must have been fantasizing about it for a long time: theres no telling but i will say i hope he goes to prison for a quite some time!!!

Lol!! you guys are way to sensitive to others comments! I'm white, and educated, and a mother. I happen to live in a town with a lot of red necks, hell my brother and father could probably be considered red necks and I'm not offended. I think crazy was ment loosely as this forum is ment to get people to think, laugh, and generate silly comments, I doubt you will find the "political correctness" here that your looking for. As much as I enjoy seeing new people post here, I'm afraid Julie, and Brother Dave may be to sensitive for this forum.....
That is crazy, but we don't know the whole story. Maybe his father sexually abused him as a child and one day he snapped. Just a thought.
